Cummins Turbo Technologies Ltd, located in Ladson, S.C. designs and manufactures turbochargers for the medium to heavy-duty diesel engine markets. Cummins contracts with The Disabilities Board of Charleston County (DBCC) to provide and maintain a work enclave consisting of 13 people served by DBCC. The enclave is responsible for completing assigned Sub-Assembly duties such as: placing o-rings on diffuser plates, cleaning turbo trays and distributing the clean trays to areas inside the plant.

Support is provided to the enclave employees by the DBCC Employment Services Staff. Employment Services is designed to meet the needs of local employers and individuals with disabilities. We support individuals by finding them jobs in the community. We do this by matching qualified applicants with employers who are looking for motivated, hard-working employees. Our candidates have skills in many areas: production, clerical, professional, sales, janitorial, food service retail, and others.

We also work with Higth School Transition Students. Once a student completes High School, and is placed on a job by Vocational Rehabilitation, DBCC will provide ongoing Follow along service to support that individual.
